4 pretty ways to spruce up your Easter decor on a dime and in a flash
Oh Man, Easter is almost here! Since we are all on Spring Break, I wanted to take a break from talking about school and volunteer work! It is a break I definitely need, how about you?
This time of year is such a flurry of activity for my family, and work with my Parent Teacher Group (PTG) at school. I barely had time to get out any of our decorations this year. It was one more thing hanging over my head in a laundry list of items on my To-do List. Just like everything else I feel needs to be accomplished, I set it as a priority and we got it done eventually! As one of my best PTG friends likes to say after we’ve finished a big task, “Check it off the list!”
Are you all prepped and ready to go for Easter? Will you be entertaining guests this year? If you are anything like me, whether you have boxes of Easter and spring decor or none, maybe you are looking for a few new ways to spruce up your table, buffet, or mantel for the special occasion. But you know what, you don’t have to break the bank in order to spring-ify your home decor. Most of the things I have for my seasonal display are cute decorations passed down to me from my mother-in-law, my own mom, grandma, or inexpensive finds over the years.
My children look forward to the day when I take down the boxes from the attic so we can all scatter our Easter love throughout the house. I wouldn’t even think about doing this task while my oldest two are at school, I’d never hear the end of it! They just all have so much fun working together and finding the treasures we had packed away last year at the end of Easter. Who knew kids loved decorating so much?
But what do you do if you don’t have family heirlooms or decades worth of collections at your disposal? Or what if you want to change things up a bit this year? Easter is just days away so how are you supposed to get everything ready?
Decorating for Easter doesn’t have to be hard, it doesn’t have to be perfect, and it sure doesn’t have to be expensive. Let me share with you a few ways I have found to create some Easter love at home on a dime!
4 pretty ways to spruce up your Easter decor on a dime and in a flash.
1. Swap out the candles for eggs!
Do you have elegant candlesticks that normally are adorned with candles? Instead of adding one more thing to your table-scape, try using eggs where your candles would go instead! This switch up adds a bit of whimsy to the scene!
I have a collection of eggs that I have acquired over the years, but you can find inexpensive and pretty eggs at any craft store. Even the dollar store has a lot of seasonal loot.
2. Fresh flowers
One of my favorite ways to decorate is with flowers. If you use seasonal flowers it is also inexpensive. If you have flowers growing in your yard, it is free!!
Check out the pretty vases I created in a matter of minutes by incorporating a few things straight from my garden and using lovely daffodils, grasses, and squills. Okay, my sweet children may have picked most of these for me…I better give them credit!
3. Colorful Candy
By including seasonal candy into your table and home decor, you can add pops of springy colors everywhere and in unexpected places.
I can’t guarantee they will last very long. You might have sneaky little hands reaching here and there for a treat, but it does make for an unexpected surprise in decor to see brightly colored jelly beans and more.
4. Save those cards!
Do you receive Easter cards from family and friends? I am amazed at the beauty often found on cards we have received over the years. Of course it isn’t very minimalist to save every card you receive. I am not suggesting you do that. But why not save away a few special cards that are delivered to your home and cherish for years to come.
The one pictured above is the sweetest pop up card that my aunt sent us several years ago. I couldn’t bear to toss it, so now we use it each year in our Easter decor. I’ve been known to frame an especially lovely card or two as well.
Thanks for spending a part of your day with me!
I hope you will find that trying these simple tricks will help you boost your Easter themed decorations and give your home a lovely burst of color. Don’t worry about trying to get it perfect. These seasonal items are only on display for such a short period of time. Instead of worrying about getting it right, just enjoy the process and the time doing it with your loved ones. If you are especially proud of how a vignette turned out, snap a pic of it so you can remember it next year.
I am wishing you all a very blessed Easter,
